Rooted in a lifelong love of all things blue and stripes, A Friend Made is a true labor of love. Drawing on years of experience working with fashion houses across Tokyo, London, San Francisco, and New York, Amy & Matthew bring a seasoned eye to every detail.

The journey begins with vintage indigo blankets, hand-selected in New York City from West African friends. Each blanket is carefully separated and meticulously sewn back together by Matthew — “our maker” — who lets the cloth itself guide the design, never forcing it. The rich blues range from deep, time-worn hues to lighter, weathered tones. The tattered edges and blemishes tell the story of their history and beauty.
