Fashioned from 100% cotton canvas, the "Magic Hat" was created by husband and wife duo Maryon and Merlen Hatter in California in 1979. The aptly-named couple met as deckhands on a sailboat, where they learned to work with canvas. 

The hats made their runway debut in Chloé's Spring '22 collection, but have been beloved for years for their travel-savvy silhouette: fold or scrunch them, they won't lose their shape.
